Another step

We're making progress. More cabinets are in, the floor is ready to sand and finish, and all the windows are installed. Next week the floors should be finished, the countertops "should" be in, and the finish carpenter will be trimming windows and such. So far, so good.

(I'm currently having a debate with myself over area rugs. Too many decisions.)

Slowly getting better

My kitchen is getting better, bit by bit. Some of the cabinets are in, and the hardwood floor is about 1/3 of the way installed. (After it's all in, the floor will have to be sanded and finished.) There will be a very few upper cabinets and an island in the finished kitchen. Need I say that the cabinets Gary's been building are beautiful? Lots of compliments from the workmen coming in. Still hoping we'll be all done for the holidays!

The Other Side

Just so you won't think everything is beautiful in Cadillac, like at Matt and Erin's house, I thought I'd show you where our house is. This is my kitchen and dining area.

This is my living room. And so is the next picture.

The last picture is our livng/dining/working/everything else room. Don't be fooled by the sunshine and bright colors. There's a layer of grit over everything. But we're hoping that it will look very different in time for Erin's baby shower, and also for teh Sharonim visit at Christmas. If it doesn't, we may have to celebrate the holidays in Israel. ;)

Schneider Projects

Matt has spent every spare moment this summer working on our house (I've been pretty much useless on account of to my condition-unfortunatly I can't even pick up dog poo anymore-or at least that's my story). Finally as the fall colors are changing again we are starting to see an end to the "house painting" project and the wood floor project.

Now that Matt's projects are drawing to a close, I think he's ready to go slap a roof on Kevin and Megan's garage this weekend :)
