Dikla..........

Dikla, this is the only way I know of to reach you,and though you may not read it for several days, I want you to know that your mother and her family are in our thoughts and prayers. While I know there is nothing else we can do, we can and do, wish for the best for your mom.

Home-Garden

Not the beer, of-course...

We decided to update you all about our garden.

The enterance to the house, where the big Pasiflora bush was

These are mini-orange fruits, from the mini-orange tree next to the enterance to the house.

Maganda and Malakas' tumb

And here is the tumb-stone (it sais: 'Maganda Malakas")

A sample of what's keeping us busy during the week - We decided this year to lower the trees, since we can't reach most of the fruit (lots of friends suddenly come over for a visit, to take part of the action - to take avokado and eat them...)

January, the middle of our "winter". we are not alowed to water our garden. All we can do is wait for the rain. that is the yellow part of the grass at the buttom.

i'm a terrible blogger!

i didn't update in such a long time. and it's not like there was nothing to tell, i'm just terribly lazy for some reason!

we spent the holiday at Cadillac - and had lots of fun. "Santa" was very good to us this year :)
as a reminder, we have a strict policy for xmas presents ("the people's xmas manifesto" or something of the sort), that aims to reduce irresponsible spending and frantic hunts for the perfect presents for everybody. in short, it means that presents should be either self made, or used under $20.
most of us follow the rules, which results in very special, well-thought, creative presents. i wish i had some pictures to show - unfortunately one of the symptoms of my "condition;)" is forgetfulness - i left my camera in Cadillac, so the pictures will have to wait.

other than that, we had a really nice time, and even the weather wasn't too terrible (it WAS a white xmas, lots and lots of that white stuff!) and the drive was ok.

we came back to town before newyears, and celebrated our anniversary at a nice restaurant by millenium park - "park grill". the service was really good, and the food was great :) and so was the company!

now it's hard to go back to work routine, after all this holiday...

Holidays: thanksgiving

i meant to post this a long time ago, but somehow got distracted and didn't really get to it. sorry!

we spent both Thanksgiving and Xmas at Cadillac, and here are some pictures.
there was some Wii playing...
and winning.

people spent the weekend trying to fix things:
Erin and Sandy tried to fix the coffee maker (a VERY big deal, i don't want to imagine what would the holiday look like with a bunch of under-caffeinated Koesters!)
Gary and Matt fixed something in the workshop
Ben fixed the computer (or tried to)
...and the car
Matt tried to fix... i don't know, his self esteem?
and we all had a fabulous dinner.

(fortunately, no incidents recorded involving pointy dogs and drumsticks. HOWEVER, some members of the family tried to teach some other, four-legged members, to beg for food off the dinner table)
