Happy Passover in chicago!

We had a wonderful seder with lots of people - 8 adults + 4 kids! it was yummmmmmmy. we had the usual appetizers (soup+maza balls, chopped liver, charosset x3, hard-boiled eggs, mazot, followed by roast beef, cordon bleu, mashed potatoes, green beans, tzimes (sweet carrot dish) and ended with delicious desserts (fresh strawberries, kugel and chocolate-toffee maza). in between we had some reading of the Hagada and singing.

it was so nice that we repeated it the next night (well we sort of had to, since we had so much food left over!)

(p.s., Sandy you may recognize a couple of items on the Seder table! aren't those tulips pretty?)

I have a dream.... Said Dalia

A few weeks back, Odi (aka Dad), was at the Lasser family. their neighbors had just moved out of the house, and there were the cars parking area, which have a wooden structure above it.

their gardener asked dad if he wants the wood there, for a small fee (aka desmentaling the construction), ofcourse. after a small negotiation, we got the wood, and he got the plastic cover of the roof. all sides were happy with this arangement.
(I am not sure about the details, but don't let facts ruin a good story... But i am sure that "One man's garbage is another man's treasure").

So, today was the big day... actually yesterday and today, when Kushy (aka Kushy) came over and they both took the wood over to Uri's workshop in Yavne, making the legs, supports and everything needed for a day full of fun and "good wood IKEA table". So this is how they both started to work on "the dream" (aka the table).

"THEY" would be:
Kushy and Dad...                                                                                        or Dad and Kushy

So they started off... well, at the begining.
Each one of them with his own tools and techniques. Both methods are almost the same. They both had to prepare the tools for work, and both showed high skills using them...

Comparing the two whould be like comparing snagging from a boat to tip-ups when fishing

I can't realy say which technique was better, but i can tell you one thing for sure..
You can't realy argue with results!

3.80 meters long over 1.30 meters wide

We still need to work on it, with some paint job, so we promise to update the blog at due time...

but if some wood brainiac would come over to Israel and give a few pointers over, let's say, a cold beer, that would be.......
a good operatunity to drink beer!

New fishy.

This is our new little fish buddy. He's a Ocellaris Clownfish. We haven't worked out a name for him as of yet. Below is the other new addition, which he should find to be a nice little place to hang out. It's Frogspawn Coral. It's very stingy.
