It's about 10,000 km from Israel to Michigan. It's mostly water, and a little land, but it's nothing we can't bridge with a satellite or some fiber optics! This site is all about keeping the Sharons and Koesters in sync. It should be a good place to talk about...whatever! If you go to Eilat, tell us about it! If you went to Canada last weekend, write a mini-novel about it here. |

Dori-fest
We have just consluded the Dori-fest.
It was Dori's b-day on May 17, and although we already had a family-size birthday, he really wanted a classroom birthday. I managed to organize it with two other moms who's boys were born around May-June, and we invited the class to a birthday party.
It was great.
The real challenge was the cake.
Dori has been talking about a having a "ben-ten" (superheros) cake with RFM sugar dough for about 6 months now. I caved in and said I'll try to make one. Little did I know what I was getting into.
I figured I'd make the cake a shape of 7, just in case I mess up the RFM dough.
With just over an hour to get the whole cake decorated, I found myself helplessly fighting with the RFM, thinking "How on earth will I make superheros out of this?", when Dori all of the sudden started making a spongebob with the leftover RFM...
So, we ended up with a spongebob cake.
It was when we got to the birthday play-gym, that I realised we didn't completetly finish the legs...
I though it was an impressive cake (the kids seemed to like it more than the other cakes), but it really was nothing compared to the completely edible star-wars R2D2. Lucky for me the third mom just made a regular chocolate birthday cake...
