The Garden 2.0
I've been working hard at the garden again this summer. We had a drain field failure that resulted in the nightmare at left early this spring. I didn't know how many plants I had lost since nothing was out of the ground yet, and there was a huge ugly bare patch of sand instead of trees and greenery beyond the fence.
This was the same area midsummer last year. Still lots of grass to get rid of, and the ferns and other plants were pretty small.
Later in the summer we were here. Things were moving along pretty well.
This was the same area yesterday. Larger plants, a little bit of green coming in over the drain field, thanks to two truckloads of dirt, 50 bags of compost, a box of wildflower seeds and Matt and Erin and Gary and a tractor.
At the rate I'm going, I figure I'll be done by at least 2016.

Very nice Sandy,it looks like the forest Oddi and I toured in Portugal many years ago-and you dont have to fly to enjoy it. We have a water crisis in Israel so we are now developing a new brand of grass - A yelow brown grass. So you should enjoy your green fields. We are looking forward to strech ourselves in your hammocks that are tied between your huge green trees.
when we came over for july 4th, you couldn't even tell that the garden has been torn apart. it's just a matter of time till the greenery grows back in the forest. great job!
p.s. in a couple of years we'll have to child-proof those pretty berries :P
When is Gary going to put a post up here for his new garage?
Gary's fishing in Saskatchewan. He'll be back on Wednesday. Then, maybe, he'll post something. I'll try to remember to mention it to him.
About those pretty berries--yeah, except for the blueberries. The white and red berries are probably not good eating.
