Fishing in Saskatchewan

Last week I went fishing with 40 other veterinarians at Reindeer lake, Saskatchewan, Canada.  We flew to Saskatoon, took a 5-hour bus ride north, and finally a 2 hour float plane cruise to the lodge.  Total trip took 14 hours.

Every where I looked there was water.  It rained for most all of the three days that we fished, but we had a great time and caught lots of fish.

We were far enough north that darkness came at midnight and left at about 3 a. m.  I found it difficult to sleep in the daylight.  We all had a great time, but had to return home on Wednesday.  Can't share all of the pictures here......maybe more with some of you at the cabin.

Sorry....thought I was logged in.

Caught them mostly around the 45th to the 68th island north of the lodge about 25 miles. Can troll along the shoreline and cast in the big bay on island 53 next to the loon's nest.

wow.
what a fish!
almost like batteling with moby dick ...
good for you!
i wish one day i will go that far up north. it looks amazing.
but truthfully, i can't sleep in daylight either, and i definately belong to the statistical portion of people who kill themselves in winters where the sun shines for 3 hours a day....
still i wish i'll go that far up north someday. and then i'll go right back home.

me too, i would totally be depressed all winter. i don't mind sleeping in daylight though. and hopefully the northern lights would compensate...

dikla, maybe in a few weeks you'll get to catch a bigger fish!
