Weekend in Chicago
The Koesterim went to Chicago last weekend and were treated like royalty by Keren & Ben!
We stopped at both Bass Pro and Cabellas on the way down. After meeting and vaccinating the Scroogim we went to dinner at a southern Indian restaurant, and then relaxed at home with Ben & Keren, and Grey & Black.
On Saturday we went to the Chicago Botanical Garden, where Keren got a beautiful orchid from the orchid show. From there, we eventually made our way to a Scottish pub for Fish and Chips (and beer).

After dinner, we walked several blocks to the Chicago Blues Bar, where we enjoyed and evening of good music and conversation.
Ben got tickets to a Cubs game (professional baseball) for Sunday afternoon. We took the train to a Mexican restaurant and then walked to the ballpark.

It was a little bit chilly but we had a great time watching a baseball game in a classic old ballpark with fanatical fans.
The Cubs team is a very old organization with lots of history, but they've never won a championship. Still they have crazy fans for whom hope springs eternal.

After the ball game (Cubs won 3-2) we walked 6-8 blocks to the Hopleaf for dinner. Then it was home, to fall asleep on the couch, and call it an early night.
Sandy & Gary left about 9 am, with directions to the Chicago Field Museum. We spent 4-5 hours there and then headed back to Cadillac.
It was so nice to see Keren & Ben again, and spend time with them. I felt like I did in Tel Aviv........I don't have to know or try to figure out how to get around......we just follow where our hosts lead, and have a good time. And we did!

I was not working during the game! I was keeping score. When you go to the game you can get a score sheet, and record each players hits, runs, errors, etc. It just makes me feel a little more "involved" in the game.

did you sleep on the inflateable matress?
i think someone told me that when keren and ben bought a temporary matress, Garry suggested that they buy the best inflateable matress they can get, since it'll be the parents who will have to sleep on it when they come over to visit....
Yes we did. It was very comfy, and is easily adjustable!
