Wedding Brainstorm
Ok, this is overdue. We have a wedding to plan. I'm brainstorming a list here. Please add more items as you think of them in the "Comments" below. Let me know if you have problems with this. I'll compile the new items and post new lists periodically. Write anything and everything in here you might want to consider. Then we can shrink it down and bring some order to things. These are listed in no particular order:
1) Dates
when can we get the Sharons here
what things do we have to reserve
2) Where?
3) Receptions in U.S. and Israel...when and where? What do we need?
4) How many people?
5) What kind of vows/ceremony, etc.?
6) Do we need:
flowers?
photographer?
7) Food? Beer?
8) Hotels
9) Wedding party (bridesmaids and groomsmen)?
Correct me if I'm wrong Keren, but I think we wanted to keep this small
10) Licensing - getting marriage licenses in the U.S.
11) Invitations
Ok, I ran out of steam. I don't see any comments yet!!!

dates:
Koesters, Sharons and Schneiders: we need a list of constraints in order to calculate (by chi square minimization) the most convenient time for everybody. so please note anything you can think of - semester breaks, exams timetables, work deadlines, your best friend's wedding, beginning of hunting season, an important game with your favorite team that you cannot miss... whatever you can think of!
Here are a couple of obvious ones:
Kevin's wedding: Sept 30th
Chris (Ben's Friend): Sept 7th
Oren (Keren's Friend): Sept 14th
Are you seriously suggesting that there is some question as to whether or not beer will be involved?
Gary and I are open for any date, except those that would interfere with Kevin and Megan's wedding. I checked at the local courthouse yesterday and was told that Ben has to apply for a marriage license in the county of his residence, as stated on his driver's licence--unless he has already moved to Chicago and has a driver's license there, in which case he can apply in the county where he's getting married. Keren will most likely need some kind of birth certificate (notarized in English) but regulations vary from county to county. The license takes 3 or 4 days to process, and is usually only good for 30 days.
As soon as you two have a good idea about what you want, I can start calling around to see what's available.
Well, I meant how much beer. And wine. And whiskey for the Canadians. And root beer for Kevin.
Ok, so it looks like we have a good lead on licensing. To finally settle this, it looks like we'll have to figure out a date, and where we'll be living at that point.
Are you seriously suggesting that there is some question as to whether or not FOOD will be involved?
I have plenty of tyime, and every date is fine by me.
Mom and I went to the minicipal office, and arranged our passports.
Love to all.
ima, my bitrh certificate is in english, right? if i recall, it's in my baby photo album.
i hope they accept the signature of the drunk doctor who delivered me... :S

That looks like one strong vote for food! Ron, I tremble in my shoes just thinking about what would happen in there was no food there.
Cool about the passports!
Ron, are you going to bring your didjeridoo (or however you spell it), or maybe your drums? We could have one heck of a band. Two didjeridoos, my dad and matt on the guitars, keren and erin singing, mom on the whistle, and me on the kazoo.
Maybe it would be better if Dad played his banjo instead of having two guitars. We don't want to sound too conventional.
licsence is easy, no blood or anything, just go to the county and ask them what you need
i volunteer mom for an irish whistle solo!
Dates for Schneiderses:
Matt's classes start in August
He has Thanksgiving off
His Christmas Break is December 16 -January 8
I can take time off anytime
all weekends are good, cept Kevly's wedding
Erin should not be volunteering me for anything unless she plans to do a vocal solo at the wedding, in which case I would be delighted to accompany her on my whistle.
At least for th stuff in the U.S I can get cheap kegs of beer now at work. I have to find out when classes are going to be but I don't think it should be a big deal to get teh time off for us.
I only now sturt to understand this media.Sorry I didnt leave any comment up to now.We are trying to find the best time to be in Israel -the weather here changes from very hot to cold -our summer is very hot july august/-we have big house to all of you-and we live in the right place-near to evrywhere/we will have a great time/
We've pretty much go the help situation solved at work so I should be able to work with any time after the middle of July, except for late September/ early October, as long as I know far enough in adavance.
Ben, I think you will want music at the wedding/reception, and unless Ron is really an expert on the digeridoo, you will probably want to save the trans atlantic family band for pre and post wedding gatherings.
Ron, I'm looking forward to hearing a digeridoo duet with you and Kevin! Matt also has a set of drums that he might be able to bring to the celebration.
Kevin, while cheap beer is good, remember that my favorite flavor is, has been, and always will be, FREE.
Dalia, I hope you will be able to plan enough time so that we will be able to show you our world....both in Michigan and in Canada....whatever time of year you are hear!
